BW Civitan Club wraps Spring fundraiser

BLYTHEWOOD – Members of the Greater Blythewood Civitan Club (GBC) conducted the drawing to conclude its Annual Spring Raffle on May 30.  The raffle included nineteen prizes ranging in value from a beach and lake vacation homes to golf and tennis packages and gift certificates from local businesses.

Bob King, president of the GBC Club, said that more than 220 tickets were sold, raising $4700 for the club.

Civitan will use the funds raised to support activities that help children, adults, and families with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, Alzheimers and a myriad of other conditions.

In the past, the club has also used funds to support local activities like Stonehouse Ministry, Christian Assistance Bridge, Babcock Center, and the Jeep Rogers Family YMCA.

As it’s only three years old, the Blythewood Chapter of Civitan is still in its early stages.

“We’re neighbors and friends who want to put our energy and efforts into helping community members who desperately need it,” said Susan King, club secretary.

The Civitans welcome new members to join in fellowship, service projects, and fundraisers.  To learn more information about the club and its activities, visit their Facebook page (GreaterBlythewoodCivitan).
