COLUMBIA – Blythewood’s boys track and field team did not bring home any team hardware, but the team had a handful of podium finishers at the SCHSL 5A State Track and Field Championships at Spring Valley High School on Friday.
Santana Wright and DeAngelo Brooks had the team’s highest finishes on the day. Brooks placed fourth in the boys’ 100 meter dash at 10.67. Wright finished fourth in discus at 47.45 meters.
Dylan Horne came in fifth in shot put at 15.36. Tyler Davis placed sixth in discus at 45.32 meters. Larry Davis had a season-best time in the 400 meter dash with a 50.02 second finish for eighth place.
The team finished in 14th place out of 30 teams competing. Spring Valley took home the 5A State Title with a team score of 99.
