BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood’s boys lacrosse team picked up their second region win of the season with a win over Spring Valley High School just before Spring Break on March 28. The Bengals took down the Vikings with a 10-3 final.
Ethan Stephens, Tyler Kahle and Thomas Oakes each had two goals and an assist in the win. Eli Kantrovich, Colin McDonald, Austin McGruff and Landon Kahle also had goals. Kahle led with a team-high three assists. McFruff had two. Kantrovich and Chris Koelsch had one assist each.
Roan Mechling led Blythewood with 12 ground balls. Quinton Solomon finished with 10. Brandon Martin and Koelsch both had four takeaways. Mate Boross had two. Mechling and Cale Ramos had a takeaway each.
Solomon won 11 of 12 faceoffs attempted. Brandon Mitchell won four of five faceoffs.
Josh Nguyen (3) and Jordan Garifalon (2) combined for five saves on the day.
Blythewood hosted Legion Collegiate Academy on Wednesday, but scores were not available by The Voice’s press deadline.
They will travel to Heathwood Hall on Friday for a 7:15 p.m. game.
