COLUMBIA – Makayla Drakeford pitched six innings of 2-hit ball, striking out eight at A.C. Flora Tuesday night. One of those hits was a Pressli Reynolds solo home run, and that’s all the Falcons needed to defeat the Redhawks in the Region 5-4A opener.
Reynolds, who got the win in the circle, gave up four Westwood hits and struck out 15 for the Falcons (8-0).
Ella Griffin went 2-for-3 for Westwood.
