BLYTHEWOOD – After beating White Knoll 8-6 on March 5, Westwood’s softball team (4-3) fell 12-2 to the Timberwolves on Thursday but beat Swansea 5-2 Friday. The Redhawks split a doubleheader at 2022 5A runner up Lexington Monday.
Taylor Blevins and Anna Graves were 2-for-3 and Makayla Drakeford was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI against Swansea. Drakeford also picked up the win.
Westwood fell 4-2 to Lexington in the first game but held off the Wildcats 3-2 in the nightcap.
Blevins hit two doubles over the course of both games. Graves and Marguerite Ridgeway each hit doubles, along with Gracie Scott, who went 2-for-2 in the second game.
The Redhawks played at Swansea Wednesday, host River Bluff Friday, and open Region 5-4A play Tuesday at A.C. Flora.
