BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood’s girls soccer team got back in the win column last Friday in a big way.
The Bengals scored five goals in the first half en route to a 9-0 conference win over Rock Hill.
Freshman Aryes Ava and Senior Stephanie Rojas each had two goals on the day. Rojas also had an assist. Seniors Evelyn Wright, Madison Powell, Lydia Daniels and junior Avery Pegram also had goals. Wright had three assists; Caroline Powell, a freshman, had two assists. Senior Megan Tarnawsky also had an assist.
Blythewood hosted Spring Valley on Tuesday for another shut-out conference win.
Another big first half produced four goals for Blythewood as they defeated the Vikings 5-0.
Wright scored two goals in the win. Madison Powell, Lauren Adams, and Rojas had a goal apiece. Daniels had two assists; Madison Powell and Wright each had an assist.
The wins move Blythewood (7-4) into second place in region play with a 4-1 record. The Bengals will continue their battle for a spot at the top of the six-team region tonight at Fort Mill. They beat Fort Mill 1-0 earlier this season.
Blythewood will return from Spring Break to face Nation Ford on April 9.
