BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood boys soccer team picked up their first region win of the season with a 2-0 shutout of Spring Valley on Tuesday.
Senior Pranav Kanumuri and Daulton Purcell, a freshman, scored Blythewood’s two goals. Donny Purcell, a senior, and sophomore Carter House had assists. Freshman goalie Brandon Hart had six saves in the win.
Blythewood (5-6-1, 1-2) is set to host Fort Mill tonight at 7 p.m. for their second meeting of the season. Fort Mill defeated the Bengals 2-1 in overtime earlier in March.
The Bengals will play in the Nike Palmetto Cup next week, starting Tuesday with a 1 p.m. game against Gray Collegiate. They’ll play Westside at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Hanahan at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Blythewood returns from spring break to face Nation Ford on April 9.
