BLYTHEWOOD – Three senior Redhawks signed their Letters of Intent last Wednesday on National Signing Day.
Anna Graves inked her commitment to play softball at Brevard College in North Carolina. Graves has been on the varsity softball team at Westwood for four years. She has 166 at bats, 44 hits, 41 runs, 12 RBIs, 6 doubles, a triple, two homers, and 19 stolen bases. Her career batting average is .265.
Makayla Drakeford will continue her softball career at Bowie State University in Maryland. Drakeford has pitched and played first base for the Redhawks. She finished her junior season with a 14-6 record. She started in 20 games, completed 19, and finished the season with a 2.81 ERA. She allowed 119 hits and 56 earned runs. She walked 25 and struck out 203. In three seasons for Westwood, Drakeford has had 152 at bats. She has 30 hits, 21 RBIs, seven doubles and three homeruns. She also is a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Harper Ramsdale will continue her track and field career at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. Ramsdale is a pole vaulter for the Redhawks. She finished first in pole vault in 4A Region 5 (10-0), third at Lower State (9-0), and eighth at the State Championship meet (9-6) last season. Ramsdale was a member of the 2023 Championship Track and Field team.
