WINNSBORO – Midlands STEM Charter School (MSCS) celebrated their academic performance in the 2022-2023 school year at the Charter Institute at Erskine’s Academic Showcase on Nov. 3, 2023.
MSCS earned a Bronze Local School of Distinction award for outperforming the local school district in Algebra 1, English 2, and US History in the 2022-23 school year. MSCS also increased the percentage of students scoring a ‘C’ or higher in Algebra 1 by 49 percentage points and outperformed the local school district by 11 percentage points.
“We allow our teachers to share in the leadership of our school, and that has made a huge difference,” said Cynthia Prince, principal of Midlands STEM. “We hope to continue this upward trajectory.”
Midlands STEM was one of 14 schools recognized at the event and was asked to present their strategies for academic growth with their peers.
