John McNair Turner, Jr., 59, of Adger Farm, Winnsboro, S.C., passed away on November 24, 2023, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Born May 28, 1964, in Winnsboro, S.C., he was the son of the late Jane Bethea Lewis Turner and John McNair Turner, Sr.
John Turner attended West Florence High School (Class of 1982). He earned his degree from Francis Marion College. After graduating, he opened his Porter Paints franchise in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Later, he worked for James W. Smith Real Estate Company in Pawley’s Island. Fulfilling his life-long dream, John returned home to Adger. He worked for Wolfe and Taylor, Inc in Columbia, S.C. until his death.
John is survived by his fiancée, Audra Mangialardo, and her daughters, Jessica Ferguson (Matt), Josie Simpson (Brett), and Lexi Mangialardo.
John is also survived by his sister, Beth Turner Kienker (Dan); nephews, Deeds Kienker (Stephanie), Taylor Kienker; niece, Emily Kienker Hughes (Walter); maternal Aunt, Ellen Lewis Fletcher (Richard); cousins, Walt Fletcher (Martha), and Tom Fletcher, (Sarah). John was also blessed with many close friends, who actively supported him during this difficult time.
John was an active outdoorsman, frequently hunting, fishing, and spending time on his land at Adger Farm. His love for family and friends ran deep within his soul, and he never met a stranger. He was a man of his word and always put others before himself.
A private gathering of family and close friends will be held at a later date at Adger Farm.
