BHS beats Vikings; WHS falls

COLUMBIA – The Blythewood football team salvaged a tough season with a 35-6 Region 3-5A victory at Spring Valley Friday night.

That win placed the Bengals (4-6, 2-3) fourth in the region standings and gives them a No.4 seed in the 5A playoffs. They go on the road to Greenville to play No.2 J.L. Mann Friday.

Quentin Solomon had two rushing touchdowns and Bryant Owens returned an interception for a touchdown. Kaleb Kelly had over 150 all-purpose yards and a TD.

In Westwood’s Senior Night, the Cavaliers finished the season with a 48-21 victory over the Redhawks (1-9, 0-5). RNE (6-4, 3-2) received a No.3 seed in the 4A playoffs and play at Region 7’s No.3 Bluffton (6-4, 3-2).
