BLYTHEWOOD – Besides beer and polka music, Oktoberfest will offer a number of contests that will cost money to enter but some payouts are in the hundreds of dollars.
Cow Patty Bingo starts at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $5, but winners can take home up to $1,000 if a cow with flowers in her hair does you-know-what in your square.
German dress and yodeling contests on Friday evening and Saturday are free.
An entry fee of $20 will get patrons into the Stein Race at 7 p.m. on Friday; the Log Sawing contest at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday; Stein Hoist at 1 p.m. on Saturday; Keg Rolling & Keg Toss at 5 p.m. on Saturday; and a Stein Race at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Winners in these contests will receive medals and prizes.

Oktoberfest all happens at the Palmetto Citizens Amphitheater at Doko Meadows Park in Blythewood Oct. 6 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be fun, food, beverages, vendors, live music and more.
