FAIRFIELD COUNTY – The last day to purchase tickets for the county’s dinner of the year – the annual Farm to Table Dinner – is Monday, May 22.
The sit-down dinner, sponsored by the members of the Fairfield Farmers & Artisans Market, is set for June 13 and will be held this year at the Doty Farm located at 3148 Newberry Rd., in Winnsboro.
Known always for its unique and beautiful settings – last year the dinner was held on a former railroad bridge high above the Broad River – the dinner is the kickoff for the 2023 Fairfield County Ag + Art Tour that will take place later, on June 17 – 18.
“We hope everyone will come out to the Doty Farm to not only support and encourage the county’s farmers and artisans, but to enjoy some really great locally grown food, lovely musical entertainment, and a silent auction in a bucolic farm setting,” said Jamie Vaine, co organizer, along with Michelle Taylor, of the down-on-the-farm dinner.
The dinner – from 6 to 8 p.m. – will be catered by Sarah ‘n Geo’s of Ridgeway. The menu will include Peach Bellini with a choice of appetizers (cucumber bites, salami rolls, and ham and turkey pinwheels.) Dinner will consist of a garden salad, chicken Florentine, ranch red mashed potato and roasted broccoli. Dessert will be divine by any standard: three layer strawberry shortcake. Beer, wine, iced tea and lemonade will be served as well.
Will Hobgood will provide the musical entertainment and a silent auction will run through the dinner hour.
Tickets are $50 each or $95 for two, or $150 for the Friends of the Farmers Package, which includes two tickets to the dinner, t-shirts and $25 tour bucks to spend on any site during the tour.
Tickets can be purchased Saturday morning from 9 – 12 p.m. at the information booth in the Fairfield Farmers and Artisans Market located at 117 E Washington St (behind the clock).
Tickets are also available during business hours at the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce located at 100 Congress St Winnsboro, on the second floor. The last day for ticket sales is Monday May 22nd.
Online ticket purchases can be made at eventbright.com (search Ag + Art Kick off Dinner) until Monday, May 22, but when tickets are purchased on Eventbrite, a large percentage of the Farmers’ Market revenue from the sale of the ticket is deducted by Eventbrite.
The Fairfield County Farmer’s & Artisan’s Market is a non-profit group that works with all types of vendors in the Fairfield community to provide a central location for purchasing fresh, locally grown or raised products by local farmers.
