WINNSBORO – After a six-day break from games, Richard Winn Baseball returned this week to host region opponents Wardlaw Academy on Monday and Laurens Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles shut out both teams, playing only eight innings in the two-day stretch.
Monday’s game against Wardlaw ended with a 10-0 mercy rule after five innings.
Junior Miller Stuck took the mound against Wardlaw on Monday. He faced 18 batters in five innings, striking out 12 and allowing only three hits. He also went 1-2 from the plate with an RBI.
Charlie Bonds and Rob Wilson both batted 2-4 in the win. Wilson tallied four RBIs; Bonds had one. Connor Little also batted in two runs; Jacob Chaisson had one RBI.
Landon Caulder was perfect in the three innings on the mound on Tuesday against Laurens, and the Eagle bats were on fire. The game ended in a three-inning mercy rule with a 15-0 final.
Caulder struck out six of the nine batters he faced through three innings.
Little batted 3-3 with a double and 4 RBIs. Travis Bonds also doubled in the win. He was 2-2 from the plate.
The wins move the Eagles to 9-0 on the year. Up next, the Eagles will travel to Great Falls on Thursday for a 6 p.m. game.
