BLYTHEWOOD – The Bengal girls’ lacrosse team dropped a 17-2 region game to Fort Mill on March 16.
Riley Robinson and Elli Nels scored the Bengals’ two goals. Sophomore Abby Ely had 11 saves in 28 shots on goal.
The Bengals’ loss comes on the heels of a three-game win streak. The Bengals defeated White Knoll, Mid-Carolina and region foe Spring Valley.
Avery Thye, Meg Gill, Robinson, Jessica Whitlock and Nels had goals in the 7-3 win over White Knoll. Thye scored three times. Abby Ely had four saves in seven shots on goal.
Robinson led the way with 11 goals in 15 attempts in the Bengals’ 20-1 win over Mid-Carolina on March 9. Thye added four goals. Kenadee Nels, Kendall Shealy, Whitlock, Elli Nels and Meg Gill had one apiece. Lucy Campbell and Madison Tankersley had two assists each.
Briana Huff tallied five ground balls; Ely had four saves in five shots on goal.
Against Spring Valley on March 13, Thye led with four goals. Gill had two, Campbell, Turner, Elli Nels and Robinson had once each. Robinson also tallied an assist. Abby Ely had 17 saves in 22 shots.
The Bengal girls are set to host Clover tonight at 7 p.m. They will play Aiken at home on Monday at 6 p.m. and then host Spring Valley on March 30 at 6 p.m.
