BLYTHEWOOD – The 6th Annual Fairfield County Animal Shelter Emergency Medical Fund Yard, Plant & Baked Goods Sale is happening Saturday, April 15 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church parking lot located at 90 Boney Road in Blythewood. Rain date is Saturday, April 22, with the same hours.
“We will be selling a wonderful assortment of household items (but no clothing or books),” said organizer Sonja Murphy. “We’re adding plants this year, which have been requested by shoppers in recent years.
“We’re asking everyone to not only come to shop, but to look around the house and think about what they have that they might want to donate. One hundred percent of the sale proceeds go to the Fairfield County’s shelter animals for emergency medical services,” Murphy said.
Representatives from the Animal Mission in Columbia will be on site offering free spay/neuter vouchers throughout the sale.
Murphy said as the annual sale has grown, more volunteers are needed.
“We need a lot of volunteers … we need folks with pickup trucks to help pick large items up and bring to storage or to the sale,” she said. “And we need help with the sales booths on sale day, anytime throughout the day. We’re also looking for volunteers to bake goodies for our bake sale area and to donate plants – both indoor and outdoor plants.
Murphy is also asking everyone to share the sale information on Facebook to get the word out.
“We hope everyone will come shop for items at a steal, knowing your purchase made a difference for a shelter animal,” she said.
“This is a big fundraising event and there will be many nice items to choose from,” she said. “So don’t miss it.”
