WINNSBORO – The Fairfield Central girls opened the 2A playoffs with a 57-36 win at Strom Thurmond on Feb. 15. Jordyn Adams and Jazzlyn McMillan each scored 16 points. Zanariah Yarborough had 15 points and 17 rebounds.
The Griffins (12-13) faced Blacksburg in the second round on Feb. 17. They defeated the Wildcats 73-59 to advance to a third round game against Gray Collegiate Academy. McMillan scored 27 points and Adams had 23. Yarborough 14 points and 15 rebounds in the Blacksburg win.
The Griffins fell 52-21 at Gray Collegiate (20-6) Tuesday. Gray advances to a final four game against Keenan on Friday.
