BLYTHEWOOD – Hayley Hightower scored 18 points, Chase Thomas added 16, and India Williams scored 14 as the Blythewood girls basketball team knocked off Spring Valley 60-58 Tuesday night, handing the Vikings (15-5, 4-1 Region 3-5A) their first loss in region play.
The Bengals (13-10, 2-3) snapped a 3-game losing streak with the win, their most recent loss being a 62-40 road loss at Rock Hill Friday.
The Blythewood boys (14-6, 3-1) saw their 9-game winning streak snap at Rock Hill as they lost 43-38. The Bengals got back on the winning side at home Tuesday with a 54-39 victory over Spring Valley (8-11, 1-4).
Blythewood travels to Fort Mill Friday and plays host to Nation Ford Tuesday. They will travel to Clover on Feb. 3 and host their final home game of the regular season on Feb. 7 against Rock Hill before closing out the regular season at Spring Valley on Feb. 10.
Spring Valley is at Rock Hill Friday and at Clover Tuesday.
