WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central breezed past Ninety Six in the first round of the SCHSL 2A State Playoffs last Friday with a 28-7 final.
Fairfield’s offense tallied 412 all-purpose yards on the night, 272 of those through the air.
Senior Jai Boyd had 98 yards on 3 receptions, include one for a touchdown. JaShaun Manning also had a receiving touchdown on an eight-yard toss. Donovan Watkins tallied 92 yards on three receptions, and TyDarion Grier had 35 yards on five receptions. Freshman quarterback Cameron McMillon completed 14 of 26 attempts for two touchdowns. He also threw three interceptions.
Kensley Copeland led on the ground with 120 yards on 13 carries. CJ Sampson scored on a seven-yard run.
Manning also tallied 15 solo tackles on the night. Myles Robertson had 14 tackles, and Stephano Gadsden had 12.
Up next Fairfield (8-3) will travel to Aiken to face Silver Bluff (6-5) on Friday for 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
