WINNSBORO – It was another great Fairfield Central High School homecoming event last week when classes from the 1980’s through 2021 filled the baseball field, tailgating under a rainbow of tents with ribs, barbecue and fried fish.
A downtown parade sparked cheers and applause as it rolled down Congress Street featuring vehicles with class-year sign, dancing girls, political candidates, homecoming contestants, the Griffin band and more. All this was topped off with a blow-out football game that the Griffins won 60-0 against Eau Claire.
New Homecoming royalty was crowned during Friday’s game against Eau Claire.
