COLUMBIA – Westwood picked up their fourth win in a row with a 3-0 sweep of Richland Northeast on Tuesday. The Redhawks easily took set one of the region match with a 25-3 final. They took set two 25-17 and then finished the match with a 25-9 set three win.
The win came on the heels of a 3-0 shutout of Irmo last Thursday. Westwood defeated the Yellowjackets with 25-22, 25-6 and 25-19 wins.
Last Wednesday, Westwood beat Camden in a tight 3-2 win. Camden took the first set with a 25-18 win, but Westwood took set two 25-21. The Bulldogs returned to win set three 25-19. Westwood won 25-19 in the fourth set to force a fifth, deciding set, which they won with an 18-16 final.
In the first of their 3-game stretch, Westwood took a 3-0 win over Ridge View last Tuesday with 25-12, 25-23 & 25-21 finals.
