CHAPIN – Fairfield Central Cross Country hit the ground running in Chapin last Wednesday. Both Griffin teams pulled a solid third place finish against Chapin, Dutch Fork and Gray Collegiate. White Knoll’s girls team also ran in the contest.
The Griffin girls were led by Jurnee Warren, who finished 15th overall with a time of 24:30.27. Judeah Warren followed in 16th place at 24:30.34 and Kensley Green secured 17th place with a 24:46.64 finish. Jamie Downs (25:46.14) and Kendis Green (26:17.27) finished in in the 20 and 21 spots.
Hank White finished first for the Griffin boys and in eighth place overall with a time of 18:37.66. Rylan Woodard crossed the line at 19:36.70 for 13th place. Parker Douglas finished in 19th at 21:46.79. Sidney Wilson clocked 22:35.36 for 22nd place and Krishi Patel rounded out the Griffins’ top five at 23:24.98 for 24th place overall.
Fairfield competed at Chester on Tuesday, but scores were not available at press time. They will run on Sept. 10 in Rock Hill at Northwestern’s Trojan Invitational.
