Bengal CC falls to Fort Mill in home meet

BLYTHEWOOD – Fort Mill came away with wins for both cross country teams when Blythewood High School’s hosted them for a meet on Sept. 21.

Blythewood’s girls scored 32 points, just behind Fort Mill’s 25. Freshman Anna Kelly finished first for the Bengals and in second place overall with a time of 19:54.60. Sophomore Mallorie Hogue followed closely in fourth place at 20:45. Eva Pendleton clocked a 20:49.10 time for sixth place overall, and Kendall Shealy placed eighth at 21:10.80. Annabelle Manville rounded out Blythewood’s top five scores at 23:14.90 for 16th place overall.

Freshman Jacob Powell led Blythewood’s boys and finished fourth place out of 76 runners participating with a time of 16:57.50. Spencer Shealy crossed the line at 17:36 for seventh place overall. Eureka Washington finished at 18:13.70 for tenth place. Dillan Boyer (18:34.70) and Graysen Manning (18:52.20) finished in 12th and 14th places respectively.

Up next, the Bengals are set to compete in the Bob Jenkins SC Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (SCTCCCA) Classic on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Newberry College.
