COLUMBIA — Richland School District Two has changed its policy for free and reduced-price meals for children served in schools under the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.
During the pandemic, the USDA provided public school districts with waivers to provide free breakfasts and lunches for all students. The waivers ended in June 2022. Starting with the 2022-2023 school year, all students unless they qualify for the Meal Value Plan (MVP), will be required to pay for breakfast and lunch.
Families have to meet income requirements explained in the MVP application. Families must apply each year even if they qualified the previous school year.
Families can apply for the MVP program by registering at family.titank12.com and following the steps provided on the website. Families will also be able to check eligibility requirements and get updates on the status of their Meal Value Plan application.
