WINNSBORO – Everything seemingly clicked for the Griffins in Thursday’s elimination game against Berea. The Griffins took a 16-1 win in just four innings to advance to a Saturday elimination game against Pendleton.
Pendleton took an early lead, putting two runs on the board in each of the first two innings. They added eight in the third to give them a 12-0 advantage over Fairfield. The Bulldogs held the Griffins scoreless through the fifth, when the game was called, eliminating Fairfield from the playoffs.
Fairfield wraps up their first season under head coach Larry Perry with a 10-12 record.
