BLYTHEWOOD – The Westwood softball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of Dreher Thursday night.
The Redhawks held off a late Blue Devils rally to win 8-5 in the first game, then scored nine runs in the fifth inning en route to a 12-1 win in the nightcap.
Pitchers Anna Graves and Makayla Drakeford got the wins for the Redhawks.
Koreena Scott hit a 3-run home run in the fourth inning that gave Westwood an 8-1 lead.
Jada McConnell, Azaria Belton, and Olivia Burroughs each went 2-for-3 in the first game, with Belton swatting a triple and Burroughs driving in two runs. Taryn Jenkins also had two hits.
Scott had a 2-RBI double in the second game.
Westwood (9-5) plays host to Irmo April 19.
