COLUMBIA – The Redhawks dropped a lopsided contest at A.C. Flora last Tuesday, which was played with only one official. This unusual and questionably illegal circumstance actually robbed the Redhawks of their greatest defensive strength, but was a good learning experience for the team as they continue to build the program.
On Thursday night, the Redhawks returned home to face the Lugoff-Elgin Demons. This game ended as a 6-2 defeat, with Redhawk goals from Tiaun Greene (Jr.) and sophomore forward Yonis Ramos Urbina, who now has five scores on the season.
Interestingly, the Redhawks most recent matchup, a Tuesday night visit to Dreher, was actually canceled hours before game time due to having only a single official available. This coincidental oddity, which was to unfold at the home field of a Region opponent, leaves the Redhawks at 3-5 overall, 1-2 in region play.
The Redhawks will return home to The Castle Thursday night to host Irmo (2-8, 1-2) in Region play.
