COLUMBIA – The Blythewood JROTC Bengal Battalion worked with two other JROTC programs on March 5 to acquire all the necessary resources to prepare 20,000 instant oatmeal meals with Harvest Pack, a humanitarian, hunger-relief, nonprofit organization.
Blythewood cadets were split into teams with cadets from other schools working in assembly lines to create the packages.
The meals were split in half at the end of the project; 10,000 meals went to Christian Assistance Bridge in Blythewood and the other 10,000 stayed in Richland 2 towards the Richland Two Backpack Program.
