BLYTHEWOOD – Last Thursday, Bengals lacrosse defeated region opponent Dutch Fork 7-5 and they followed up with an 11-1 win over Catawba Ridge on Monday.
Seniors Nick King and Ty Auton had three goals each in the win over Dutch Fork. Freshman Thomas Oakes added one. Tyler Witmer had two assists; Auton and Connor McDonald both had one.
King and Auton led the Bengals in fielding also. King snagged 8 ground balls and Auton got 7. Oakes tallied 5. Caleb Ledley led with 5 takeaways. McDonald won 11 of 15 faceoff attempts. Maxwell Bloom had 21 saves in 48 minutes played.
In their win over Catawba Ridge, Oakes and King had three goals, Evan Taylor and Auton had two and Witmer had one. Auton, Taylor, Ledley, Oakes and Witmer all had assists. King led fielding with 13 groundballs and 4 take aways. Bloom had 11 saves in the win.
The Bengals will host Spring Valley tonight for more region action.
