BLYTHEWOOD – The Westwood girls picked up region wins 5 and 6 last Friday against A.C. Flora and on Tuesday against Lugoff-Elgin.
The Redhawks took down Flora 39-30 on Friday, partly due to a big first quarter. Up 14-4 after the first, Flora kept Westwood’s offense in check for the remainder of the game.
Westwood blew the doors off of Lugoff-Elgin when returned to the court on Tuesday. Up 22-1 after a quarter, the Redhawks extended the lead to 38-6 at the half and finished with a 78-19 final.
The wins moved Westwood to 6-0 in region action, 14-6 overall.
After picking up a 58-55 win over Flora on Friday, Westwood added another three-point win to their record on Tuesday against Lugoff-Elgin.
Both teams were scheduled to play Irmo on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time. Dreher is set to come to The Castle for a region game on Friday.
