BLYTHEWOOD – Redhawk boys fell in a tight 3-point game to Sumter in their return to action on Tuesday. Junior Arden Conyers finished with a career-high 30 points. Bryson Felder and J. McDuffie added 8 apiece.
The Westwood girls also returned to Blythewood with a loss on Tuesday. Sumter held a 6 point lead after a quarter of play and held the Redhawks to only 2 points in the second quarter to lead 22-12 at halftime. Unable to recover from the first half deficit, Westwood fell 43-51.
Jessica Woods put up 19 points in the contest. Thamia Davis had 9 and Korletta Daniels had 7.
The Redhawks will start region play on Friday at A.C. Flora and will host Lugoff-Elgin on Jan. 11.
