NEWBERRY – Fairfield Central girls tallied 70 points again on Tuesday as they blasted their way past Newberry High School, 78-17.
The win, which comes on the heels of a 70-25 win over Eau Claire on Friday, puts the Griffins at 5-0 on the season. They faced Johnson on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time. Griffins beat Johnson 68-4 in their season opener on Dec. 1. Up next, Fairfield girls will play face Cuthbertson in holiday tournament play on Dec. 28.
The Griffin boys picked up their first win of the season last Friday with a 45-36 final over Eau Claire. After facing Johnson on Wednesday, the Griffins are set to play Charlotte Country Day School on Dec. 28.
Both teams are slated to return in the New Year to play at Great Falls on Jan. 7.
