In the boys game, Lancaster built a 14-5 lead over a slow first quarter and held on to that lead to win 52-42 over the Bengals. Samaad Wright led the way with 12 points.
Kayden Slay scored 13 points for the Bruins (11-1). Jordan Watford and Grayson Kirk added 10 points apiece.
“We’re struggling this year, on anything right now, just struggling,” head coach Zeke Washington said. “As the coach you’ve got to get everybody on the same page, which is hard to do. We tried to make runs, but then we would do something to it and shoot ourselves in the foot. We’re not efficient offensively.”
Since the Friday loss, the Bengals (5-5) played in the Lemon Street Classic in Americus, Ga., Saturday through Tuesday. They fell to Sumter (Americus) 54-43 in the opening game, played Veterans (Kathleeen, Ga.) Monday, lost 62-46 to Salem (Conyers, Ga.), and played a fourth game Tuesday.
