WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central girls blasted Johnson 66-8 on Dec. 15 before breaking for the Christmas holidays.
They returned to action on Dec. 29 at the Copperhead Basketball Classic Christmas Tournament, tallying their first loss of the season to Cuthbertson High School. Cutherbertson led 30-14 at halftime. The Griffins surged in the third quarter but were not able to make up the deficit and fell 46-32.
The Griffin boys lost a tight 50-53 game to Johnson on Dec. 15. They lost 59-83 to Charlotte Country Day School in Tuesday’s tournament action. They were slated to play York on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time.
Both teams will return to regular season action on Jan. 7 at Great Falls before opening region play against Keenan at home on Jan. 11.
