BLYTHEWOOD – Aug. 6 is a day the Town will honor and remember our veterans.
The community is invited to join the mayor and town council members at 6 p.m., Aug. 6, at Blythewood Town Hall to remember and honor the men and women who were wounded on the battlefield or paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
The National Anthem will be performed by Vance and Jeannie Sharpe, and the history of the Purple Heart will be given by Mr. Rich Roszelle of the Department of South Carolina, Military Order of the Purple Heart. Purple Heart Recipient, Sergeant First Class Harold Palmer, USA Ret., will also be introduced at the ceremony.
The ceremony is open to the public and light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony.
