BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood High School recognized eight members of the Class of 2021 Wednesday who have committed to continuing their athletic careers on the collegiate level. The group included four football players, two girls basketball players, and two track and field athletes. The seniors are slated to graduate from Blythewood High School on June 9.
Josias Addison, son of James and Nadia Addison, announced his commitment to play football at Charles- ton Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina. Addison, a defensive lineman for head coach Jason Seidel, was a two year starter for the Bengals.
Dhani Dixon, son of Gerald Dixon and Danita Harrison, announced his commitment to play football for Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Dixon, a running back for head coach Jason Seidel, was named a captain for the 2020 Bengal team. Dixon rushed for over 600 yards and earned All-Region honors his senior year.
Walker Flores, son of Gabriel and Kellee Flores, announced his commitment to continue his track and field career at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. Flores threw the shot put and discus at Blythe- wood where he was coached by Jason Warren as well as his father Gabriel.
Emiya Gallman, daughter of Vincent and Cheryl Gallman, announced her commitment to play basketball at Benedict College. Gallman played at Blythewood High School for head coach Steve Inabinet. Gallman earned All-Region honors her senior year while helping the Bengals post a third-place finish in Region IV.
DJ Hutcherson, son of Kimberly Hutcherson, announced his commitment to play football at South Caroli- na State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Hutcherson, a linebacker for head coach Jason Seidel, earned All-Region and All-State honors as a senior for the Bengals. Hutcherson was also named a Shrine Bowl selection in 2020.
Morgan Kelly, daughter of Willie and Ebony Kelly, announced her commitment to play basketball for Spar- tanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Kelly played point guard for head coach Steve Inabinet at Blythewood. Kelly helped lead the Bengals to a third-place finish in Region IV her senior year.
Connor Knight, son of Travis and AnnMarie Knight, announced his commitment to continue his track ca- reer at Long Island University in Orangeburg, New York. Knight competed in Discus, shot-put and javelin for coaches Jason Warren and Gabriel Flores at Blythewood high School. Knight finished second in the 2021 5A State Championship in the Discus event after earning All-Region honors in both the Discus and Javelin.
Tyler Rasberry, son of Kevin and Tiffany Rasberry, announced his commitment to continue his football career at Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina. Rasberry, a defensive lineman for head coach Jason Seidel, was among the team leaders as a senior in tackles, tackles for a loss, and quarterback hurries. He also was awarded the Defensive Leadership Award for his work with the defensive unit.
