BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood High School’s Theater program participated in the Palmetto Dramatic Association/South Carolina International Thespian state competition earlier this month that was held virtually.
The BHS playwrights and actors distinguished them in several categories, bring home top ratings and trophies.
Kyleigh McComoish, took three awards, winning first place for her original one-act play, The Waiting Room; second place for her original one-act play, Girl in the Clouds and honorable mention for her original one-act play, Great Minds.
The ensemble for McComish’s play, Girl in the Clouds, received a Superior in play production.
Olivia Moody received a Superior in Acting rating in that same play.
The ensemble for McComish’s play, The Waiting Room, received Excellence in play production.
Carmyn Cox and Kyleigh McComish received a Superior rating in Short Film, and Olivia Moody received a Superior rating in Solo Musical.
Ella Tocci received a Superior rating in Costume Design.
All of these students will advance to the National Thespian competition to be held this summer.
