LEXINGTON – Blythewood Lacrosse was bumped from the Class 5A South Carolina High School League state playoffs last week.
After defeating two-seeded St. James 21-16 in the first round of the Lower State bracket, Blythewood, a three seed, returned to the midlands to face Lexington in the second round. The top-seeded Wildcats bested Blythewood 15-8 to end the Bengals’ season.
Blythewood wraps the 2021 season with a 9-4 record. Two of their four losses on the season were to Lexington.
Lexington lost to Wando in the third round. Wando will play for the state title on April 30.
