BLYTHEWOOD – After voting last week to contract with MPA Strategies to market, brand and write grants for the Town of Blythewood, it appeared to some members of council that the motion only allowed the Mayor to negotiate but not execute the contract.
During Tuesday’s special called meeting, the contract was re-voted to allow the mayor, town administrator and the town attorney to negotiate the contract with MPA Strategies and for the mayor to execute the contract on or before April 1.
According to Franklin, he expects the contract will be signed within the week so that Ashley Hunter, the CEO and owner of the firm, can begin right away to submit grants for the Town that expire in March.
The motion was approved in a 4-1 vote with Councilman Eddie Baughman voting against.
