Letter: Korean Vets Deserve Wall

This is a very important project. I’m hoping you feel as I, that we must build the Korean War Wall of Remembrance as soon as possible. The average age of Korean War Veterans today is between 88 – 89 years. If we want to have some Korean War veterans around to attend the dedication, we must hurry.

The Wall of Remembrance will cost about $26 million, or $700.00 per name. South Korea has committed to raising significant funds for the Wall of Remembrance, but America must raise at least $13 million, or about $350.00 per name.

We appreciate the contributions received thus far. Our goal for SC’s 576 KIA’s/MIA’s and an unknown number of POW’s is $200,000. We have raised $145,000 as of Sept. 8, 2020. If we can raise the public awareness, I believe South Carolinians will overwhelmingly support this project. It is past the time when we should have recognized and honored these men as the heroes they were/are.

All expenses related to this project are being paid by KWVA Foothills Chapter #301 Fundraising Committee, a 501 (c) 19 organization. One hundred percent of donations go toward the Wall of Remembrance. Contributions are tax deductible.
