WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central picked up a conference win last Thursday with a tight 3-2 victory over the Raiders.
The Griffins took an early 1-0 lead with a 26-24 score in the first set. Keenan evened the game at 1-1 with a more decisive 25-19 win in the second set and used their momentum to go up 2-1 with a 25-23 win in set three.
The Griffins bounced back in the fourth set with a 25-18 win to send the game into a deciding fifth set. Fairfield took the match with a 15-10 final set score.
The Griffins faced Brookland-Cayce on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time. They are set to travel to York on Thursday and will return home on Oct. 7 to host Chester.
