JOHNS ISLAND – Blythewood Cross Country took to Mullet Hall in Johns Island over the weekend for the Low Country Invitational, hosted by James Island High School.
The Bengal boys finished 14th of 26 teams with 342 points and an average time of 19:39. William Lenker was the first Bengal finisher at 18:50.05 and in 46th place overall. Barry Hardy finished at 19:27.28, Spencer Shealy at 19:33.81 and Andrew Sullivan at 19:48.71. Naitonio Hare (20:37), James Gregory (21:34), Clayton McMillan (21:27), Grant Benson (22:14) and Daniel Smith (22:16) finished under 23 minutes.
The Bengal girls finished with a 27:42 average time in the 23-team run. Anna Kelly finished first for Blythewood at 24:12.77. Brooke Barker finished at 27:11.93, Zhanaya Casteal at 28:24.27, Phina Rabaca at 28:47.59 and Jurnee Warren at 29:59.32.
Blythewood looks to pick up steam in the upcoming region meet.
