COLUMBIA – The USDA waivers that allowed Richland Two to provide meals to all families are expiring on August 20.
No meals will be served the following week of August 24. On August 31, the first day of school, the district will begin their Phase 1 Meal Plan. Families who qualify for free and reduced price meals should apply for this status. Students who attended schools in Richland Two in 2019-2020 and received free/reduced price meals must complete a new application for eligibility of extended benefits each school year. If applications are not completed, all meal prices will automatically change to full price.
The quickest and easiest way to submit applications is to use the new Richland Two online application. The online application can be translated into Spanish.
Families have to apply every year. Visit the Free and Reduced Meal application page to read the parent letter, get instructions on filling out the application, download paper application and for documents/instructions in Spanish. For additional questions or information, contact Nicole Holley-Burns at nburns@richland2.org, or 803-419-2716.
The Department of Social Services, (DSS) not the district determines who is eligible for the P-EBT benefit.
