BLYTHEWOOD – The Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce will award one $1,000 scholarship to a deserving local area student seeking a college degree in a business-related field.
All high school seniors residing or attending school in the Blythewood 29016 zip code, as well as seniors of active GBCC members that are planning to attend institutions of higher learning are eligible to apply. Selection is based on the following:
- Need of Financial Assistance – 20%
- Scholastic Achievement – 30%
- School Involvement – 10%
- Community Service – 10%
- Essay – 10%
- Interview – 20%
To be considered, the application and required items must be postmarked by Friday, May 1, 2020.
Applicants must agree to be available for a Google Hangout/Zoom interview on Monday, May 18, 2020 and/or Wednesday, May 20, 2020. The winner will be announced at the chamber’s June 9 breakfast meeting at Doko Manor.
