COLUMBIA – Blythewood’s girls lacrosse team took on a tough Spring Valley opponent in their final game before the COVID-19 sports suspension.
The Bengals took to Spring Valley last Thursday for a conference game. Spring Valley jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the first half and outscored the Bengals 6-4 in the second for an 18-7 final.
Junior Isabella Clarke led the Bengals offensively with four goals in five shots on goal. Juniors Taylor Harman (2), Licza Lobo (1), Skylar Steelman (1), Lacey Myers (1) and senior Madeline Roberson added a goal each.
Jadyn Velpula and Baylee Jackson were credited with a ground ball each. Rebecca Carter, Hannah Herbig and Baylee Jackson each had caused one turnover.
Senior Ninah Cooks had eight saves in the loss.
