GREAT FALLS – For the first time in five seasons, Fairfield Central boys’ basketball opened its regular season in the win column. The Griffins faced off with Great Falls High School last Wednesday in their season opener and came away with a tight 56-50 win.
They turned around to host Newberry High School at home on Friday, and found different results. The Bulldogs bested Fairfield for a 62-48 final.
Fairfield traveled to Blythewood on Tuesday to face off with 4A boys basketball powerhouse Westwood. The Redhawks jumped out to an early 15-5 lead and held it for a 64-47 final.
The Griffins hosted White Knoll on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time. Fairfield will travel to Newberry Friday for a rematch of last week’s game before hosting Westwood on Dec. 16.
