BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood Artists Guild will mark the 10th anniversary of its Holiday Market with a move to a new location – the Columbia Country Club located in LongCreek Plantation.
This year’s market, set for Nov. 21 – 23, will feature 30 or so vendors selling arts, crafts, books by local writers, handmade jewelry, paintings, prints, plants and more – with many items ideal for holiday gift giving.
Santa will also be available Friday night (6 – 8 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.) on the screened porch to visit with children and take orders for Christmas morning.
The three-day event will open Thursday evening, Nov. 21, from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The first 500 shoppers will receive swag bags filled with coloring books for kids, gift tags, cozies candies and other holiday items.
“It’s amazing how many talented people are in the Blythewood area. We encourage everyone to come out and see for themselves. It’s a great place to do holiday shopping because you can find something for all ages and styles,” Guild member and artist Brenda Konitzer said. “Even better, you know they won’t already have it because handmade means one of a kind. You’ll also be supporting your friends and neighbors instead of giving that money to big companies. Your money stays in your community.”
Konitzer said the event will offer items that shoppers from previous years are looking for as well as some new vendors with new, unique items.
The Country Club is located at 135 Country Club drive in the heart of LongCreek Plantation neighborhood. Follow the signs off Rimer Pond Road and Longtown Drive.
