CAMDEN – Fairfield Cross Country competed in the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic on Oct. 12. The boys team finished with an average time of 18:57.
Malik Coleman finished first for the Griffins with a time of 18:35.56. Sammie Robinson followed at 18.38.85 and Malik Beaver at 18:42.04. Also finishing in under 20 minutes were Joshua Mosley at 19:10.45 and Luke Downs at 19:49.30.
Nia Lemon finished first for the Griffin girls at 25:03.49. Ashanti Thompson followed at 25:43.10 and Trenell Boyd at 28.04.62.
The Griffins will wrap up their regular season schedule in Camden on Oct. 22 and at the Cici’s Derby on Oct. 26. They look to be in top shape heading into the postseason. Fairfield looks to be competitive at the region meet on Oct. 29, followed by State qualifiers on Nov. 9 and the State meet on Nov. 16.
