CAMDEN – As the cross country season winds, down, Blythewood Cross Country is speeding up for the postseason. They competed in the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic on Oct. 12 in Camden, and the boys team had a strong finish.
The Bengal boys pulled a seventh place finish of 56 teams with an average time of 18:41. Christian Pearson topped Blythewood runners with a seventh place finish at 17:18.05. Daniel Turnipseed followed in 38th place with an 18:32.17 finish and Michael Stevens in 57th at 18:81.77. William Lenker and Naitonio Hare both finished under 20 minutes.
Blythewood girls finished 43rd of 59 teams with a 25:58 average time. Mallorie Hogue finished first for the Bengals in 74th place overall at 23:01.41. Hannah Mcgrory and Madison Wakefield finished at 25:33.88 and 25:39.92 respectively.
