COLUMBIA – Though Blythewood Swim team did not compete at State, the Bengals were represented by five of their top swimmers.
Eighth grader Sarah Axtell competed in the 200 IM and finished with a time of 2:24.10, 14 seconds off of the first place spot. Daniel Brown and Conan Gust sway in the 500 yard freestyle. Brown, a junior, finished at 5:17.18 and Gust, a freshman, at 5:24.73. Junior Josh Coven battled in the 200 yard freestyle and finished at 2:00.03. Senior Eden Bulleman swam in the 100 yard backstroke and finished at 1:15.82.
The 5A State Meet was held on Oct. 14 at USC’s Natatorium.
